Martially marked and inspected Colt Third Model Dragoon percussion revolver, .44 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #12411. This gun is in overall very good condition showing and even brown patina on the barrel assembly and cylinder with faint traces of case colors on the loading lever and hammer and with silvery finish to the frame; bore is very good, action is crisp, markings are sharp and there is approx. 90% of the cylinder scene visible along with portions of the pressure ridge; all matching visible serial numbers except the wedge which is “2416 (5 numbers off the balance of the gun’s parts). The grips are very good with some wear and a couple scattered mars and nicks and also with the rare variation of cartouche stamped vertically rather than horizontally. An excellent hard-to-find fully Martially inspected Third Model Dragoon with rare cartouche variation. Est.: $9,000-$10,000.
