1802 “Columbian Centinel,” Boston, 2 June 1802, with page two report announcing the death of Martha Washington at Mt. Vernon. Mentions her lingering illness and that she had “…long prepared for her dissolution...[and] took the sacrament from Mr. Davis...” A nice tribute to the first First Lady, “…the worthy partner of the worthiest of men…'' First leaf is trimmed at the top causing minor loss to unrelated content on page two, stain in 3rd column on the front page, occasional foxing.
