1940, New York. $10,000 Bond for Highway Improvement bearing 4% interest. Olive/Black. Engraved vignette of the state seal at top left. Signed on the accompanying stock transfer by MARSHALL FIELD III (1893 - 1956): Publisher. Using the great wealth he inherited from his grandfather, the Chicago Merchant and founder of Marshall Field & Company, Field built a large communications empire which included the Chicago Sun-Times, publishing houses such as Simon & Schuster, a music company, and numerous radio stations. Several staple holes at top. Punch cancellations on bond do not affect Field's signature which is bold and clean. Extremely Fine.
