Marquetry longcase clock, the eight day movement with square brass dial signed John Wainwright, Wellingborough, no. 1622, with date aperture, silvered subsidiary seconds dial and silvered chapter ring, pierced brass spandrels with mask centres, in late 17th century walnut case with moulded pediment above blind fret frieze, marquetry flowers around the hood and below the ledge, the trunk with single panel door with circular clear glass inset, profusely inlaid with urns, birds, flowers and foliage, foliate scroll volutes around the border, on similarly inlaid reduced plinth with moulded stepped base. Two brass cased weights and a brass faced pendulum. The dial 12" square. 77 1/2 " high.
