DS, one page, 8.5 x 11, August 20, 1956. Official letter from the Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation sent to Marlon Brando affirming the cancellation and withdrawal of a request for him to report to studio on August 13, 1956 “to commence rendition of your services in connection with the second motion picture to be produced during the term of your Employment Agreement with us dated August 12, 1951.” Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Brando. In very good to fine condition, with creasing along the right edge, and a faint block of toning over the faded text at the top. It remains unknown what film this “second motion picture” refers to, though Brando was considered for the lead in The King and I, which was released in 1956.
