Marlin Model 1894 lever action rifle with factory letter confirming return to factory in 1901 and stating possibly changed from .38-40 to .44-40 at that time. The factory letter is dated 1970. The rifle shows a 21”round barrel with full magazine and carbine type but. The caliber markings have been remarked with handheld stamps. The barrel address and markings are good and the rifle shows an old refinish of which about 80% to90% remains. The stocks are good with some wear to the forend and a couple of slight cracks on the right side of the wrist. Tang screws has been marred. A Lyman tang sight added. The rear sight slot is filled by aplug and a Lyman type sight is in the front dovetail. The action is good and the bore is good to very good and may clean to near excellent. Est.: $600-$1,200.
