Marlin Ballard number 4, target rifle, .32-40 caliber, 30” half round half octagon standard weight barrel, blue and case hardened finish, select grain, deluxe walnut stocks, Swiss butt, single trigger, aftermarket mid range adjustable vernier type tang sight, for windage and elevation. Marked “F.J. Zika” with adjustable target type front sight matched well to the tang sight. No dovetail in barrel for the sight. The barrel shows 80-90% original blue that is thinning and toning with some light scratching, just beginning normal age. The frame shows 40-60% case hardening drifting and modeling with some areas of rainbow colors showing strong, particularly on the top of the action and inside the weber. The stocks are of select or deluxe quality with a high varnish finish of which 90-95% remains with some bumps, dings, and indentations. The buttplate shows 80-90% nickel. The markings are sharp, the action is tight, the bore is near excellent and the rifle has been well cared for. Est.: $2,500-$5,000
