Marlin Ballard No. 3 .22 caliber gallery rifle, 24” medium weight octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, standard wood stocks, crescent butt, serial #34931. Refer Flayderman 5D-097. The barrel shows 40-60%original blue drifting to brown with some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting. The edges are fairly crisp, the original front and rear sight are retained. The top of frame is faceted to accept the smallercaliber barrel. The frame shows 20-40% case hardening drifting to silvery grey with some light colors still visible. The forend shows darkening from oil and handling and a large sliver of wood missing at the top of theright edge. The buttstock shows 50% varnish with many small scratches, mars, dings, minor imperfections, but is at least good. The buttplate shows traces of case hardening, the markings on left side of frame are sharp.The bore is good and still bright, shows just some normal wear and aging. Est: $600 - $1,200
