Description: Offered for your pleasure is this J. M. Marlin marked early model 1-1/2 Hunter’s rifle in desirable .45-70 caliber, 30" heavy round barrel, made 1879-1881, beginning in 1881 Ballard rifles were marked "Marlin Firearms Co." and this marking continued until the Ballard was discontinued in 1891. Maker: JM Browning, Ogden, UT., JM Marlin, New Haven, Conn. Approx. Age: 1879 - 1881. Serial# 7215.
Size: Barrel measures 30" with an overall length of 44-1/2". Condition: Fair for its age, wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description.
