Marlin 1881 Cal: .40-60 SN: 1949
Blued lever-action tube magazine fed rifle with a 28" octagon barrel, top ejection bolt, steel forend cap and buttplate, Sheard style front sight, added peep sight on top of the bolt and walnut furniture. Missing the factory rear sight. Metal finish shows mottled patina with freckling from past surface rust as well as small areas of pin-prick pitting. There are scratches and scuffs throughout and a small dent in the mag tube. The wood has darkened and has scratches, rubs, dings and scuffs with only 2 small possible short cracks on the forend. The forend is slightly loose. The bore shows evidence of pitting but still has plenty of rifling. Action is nice and tight but sticky with delayed falling of the hammer when the trigger is pulled. Condition as an antique is very good. *Antique Firearm*
