<B>Mark Twain: <I>Life on the Mississippi</B></I></B></I> (Boston: James R. Osgood and Company, 1883), first edition, intermediate issue (the illustration captioned "THE ST. LOUIS HOTEL" on page 443, but no Twain in flames illustration on page 441), 624 pages, brown half leather binding on light brown cloth, 8vo (6" x 8.75"). One of Twain's favorites among his own works. The book is in good condition, with noticeable wear to the leather spine and edges, bumped corners, and toning to the textblock edges.
