Osgood and Company, 1883), first edition, first state, with both true first state points present: (1) page 441: present is a tail-piece depicting an urn, flames, head of Mark Twain, in subsequent states removed at the request of Mrs. Clemens who considered it morbid and (2) page 443: caption reads “THE ST. LOUIS HOTEL”, in subsequent states corrected to "The St. Charles Hotel", 624 pages, half morocco period binding with unusual iridescent marbled boards and matching endpapers, two raised bands on the spine with gilt titles and decoration, TEG, 8vo (6” x 9”), light toning to pages, a very few spots of light soiling, front hinge just starting to crack, corners rubbed to boards, light wear to spine, else very good condition.<BR><BR><BR><b>Shipping:</b> Books & Catalogs (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.heritageauctions.com/common/shipping.php">view shipping information</a>)
