<B>Marine Corps Recruiting Poster "First to Hoist Old Glory on Foreign Soil".</B></I> 29.25" x 39", framed under glass to an overall size of 34.75" x 44.5" Artist: Sidney Reisenberg. 1913. The image is of Marines hoisting the flag on the beach of some tropical locale. In the background a fleet of battleships can be seen. Above and to one side of the central image are engravings by Axel Tornrose of Marines in various military poses. The image is evocative of the 1915 Marine excursion into Haiti.
