Marina Oswald Porter signs a short handwritten letter, dated 10 August 1981, to ''Ellen''. The widow of Lee Harvey Oswald remarried in 1965 after her husband, the accused assassin of JFK, was killed by Jack Ruby. In her note, she writes, ''...sorry, that it took me that long to answer...But my summer wasn't the best and I did not had [sic] the time to sit down to write back...Marina Porter''. In the summer of 1981, Marina was trading court orders with Oswald's brother for the right to exhume Oswald's body. In the continuing swirl of conspiracy theories around the assassination, there was a question as to whether it was Oswald who was buried there, or a Russian spy. Marina won and the body was exhumed to settle the question, verifying that the body was indeed Oswald's. The letter, written on a 3'' x 5'' notecard, has minor paper loss on the verso, else near fine.
