Bank check, 8.25 x 3, filled out in type and signed in blue ballpoint by Monroe, as president of Marilyn Monroe Productions, payable to Sutton Wines & Liquors, Inc. for $8.81, September 15, 1957. Matted and framed, with a color glossy photo of Monroe and a small sequined lip pin, to an overall size of 13.25 x 19. In fine condition, with bank stamp to body, lightly affecting beginning of signature, show-through from stamps on reverse, and a few strokes of signature a shade light, but completely legible. 1957 was a very up and down year for Monroe, with the release of The Princess and the Showgirl in June, the first film from Monroe’s production company, a career highlight, but just six weeks before signing this check, Monroe suffered a miscarriage.
