Brown Louis Vuitton leather-bordered case with LV motif, leather handle and inside retention straps. Originally owned by Marilyn Monroe, who regularly brought it along with her on professional visits to her hairdresser, Syndey Guillaroff, who worked with her on "Asphalt Jungle" and "The Misfits". This, and the following lot of Marilyn Monroe personal effects was accidentally left by Monroe at Guillaroff's studio during the production of "Something's Got To Give". Shortly thereafter, Monroe was fired by Fox and she no longer needed Guillaroff's services, who never had the chance to return the items to her. Two other personal items of Monroe's which fell into Guillaroff's possession in the same manner were recently sold at auction: a gold compact case offered in December, 2001 brought $3,000, and a mink coat offered in March, 2000 brought $10,000.
