TLS, one page, 6 x 9, blindstamped personal letterhead, April 15, 1960. Letter to Arthur Ehrlich of the U. A. South American Corporation, sent shortly after Chile named Monroe the 'Best Actress in Film' for her role as Sugar 'Kane' Kowalczyk, in the film Some Like It Hot. In part: "Will you please convey my sincere appreciation to the public and critics of Chile for awarding me the Laurel de Oro as Best Actress of 1959? The award is indeed an honor, which I shall long treasure, as I also shall the beautiful trophy itself. Please convey to them my warmest greetings and all best wishes." In fine condition, with two file holes to the left edge, and staple holes and a light paperclip impression to the upper left corner. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. Previously sold at Christie's, June 7, 1997.

Monroe earned wide acclaim for her role in Some Like It Hot, winning the American Golden Globe for 'Best Actress - Comedy or Musical,' and taking home the prestigious Chilean Laurel de Oro. The film was also nominated for six Academy Awards, winning the Oscar for 'Best Costume Design, Black-and-White.' A superb, boldly signed letter from the popular actress at the height of her career.
