The second wife of Emperor Napoleon I of France (1791-1847). Partly-printed DS, in French, one page, 15 x 11, December 15, 1811. Marie Louise testifies to the irreproachable conduct of the Wife of Marshal Guillaume Brune and names her a Daine de la Société de la Charité Maternelle (Lady of the Maternal Charitable Society). Signed at the conclusion by Marie Louise and countersigned by Cardinal Fesch as Grand Almoner of the Empire and Gen. Sec. of the Maternal Charitable Society. In very good condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold and scattered creasing and toning.
