ALS in French, signed "Marie," three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4 x 5, no date but postmarked July 23, 1952. Handwritten letter by Marie Laurencin, in part (translated): "Unfortunately the judge hasn’t given his decision yet. Everything is postponed. The plaintiffs have initially found that I was not French. Then the story of the passport with four leafs lacking which would be a defect from the fabrication. In any case, the passport is not signed. As soon as weather improves I will go to St Benoit Sur Loire on July 31. August 1 we take the car and I will prepare the exhibitions for the one at Petrides. I have lent several paintings...The plaintiffs want to prove that I do not leave my apartment. Now everybody is on holiday." In fine condition, with light creasing to the upper left corner. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in her own hand.
