<B>Maria Leszczynska, Queen Consort to Louis XV, Letter Signed</B></I> "<I>Marie</B></I>". One page, 9.25" x 14", manuscript, in French, Versailles, January 30, 1736, to Cardinal Gotti, countersigned by Rossignol, paper seal intact. Maria was a Polish princess, daughter of King Stanislaw Leszczynski. She married King Louis XV of France in 1725 and was grandmother to three future French kings, Louis XVI, Louis XVIII, and Charles X. The recipient of this item was likely Cardinal Vincent Louis Gotti, one of the most brilliant Catholic theologians of the time. The document, in fine condition, is double matted with an engraving and framed to an overall size of 22" x 21".
