Title is Waiting for the Tillerman. 15" by 9 1/2" by 9". Mari Bolen (Born 1944) is active/lives in Montana. Mari Bolen is known for Sculptor-Indian, figure and portrait. The following is from the artist: Born in Great Falls, Montana, and living in Hamilton, Montana, Mari Bolen has been a professional artist since 1964. She has been an illustrator for the Department of Fish and Game, MSU, and an Educational and Commercial TV Art Director in California and Arizona. She taught sculpture for the University of California and San Jose Unified Schools, night classes. In 1980, she returned to Montana to a full-time sculpture career. She is noted for her figurative and portrait work, most notably Plains Indians and others encountered on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. She is a founder of the Montana Professional Artists Association, which she serves as president. She has won People's Choice and best of Show six times from this organization's shows and others.
