A viewer of this listing provided the following information about this item: "This was printed in 1938, The title is 'Blue Danube', Marguerite Stuber Pearson was afflicted with Polio as a young woman and fought her disability. The picture is in green indicating the subject of the painting is not in love. As you may be aware the Danube is a dirty green water way, but it is said if one is in love it appears blue. Therefore the green tones are significant to the frame of mind the artist was in at the time she painted it, if you research Marguerite you will find a later painting of a woman playing a piano that is in blue where the subjuct is smaller and seen at a diffrent angle, that painting was done after she met her Husband."
