American Revolution Bicentennial Commission. COINS AND MEDALS ADVISORY PANEL, REPORT NUMBER THREE. Washington, D.C., July 29, 1970. 8.5 by 11 inch paper; duplicated typescript with tabs in report binder. (70) leaves, printed on one side. Generally fine. Margo Russell's copy of this important document. The Coins and Medals Advisory Panel of the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission was responsible for developing the plan for the bicentennial coinage issued in 1975-76, and serving on the Panel was among the highlights of Russell's career. These governmental reports had very limited circulation and are rarely made available to the secondary market. Russell was an enthusiastic supporter of the coinage plan from the beginning, noting here that "no single form of observance of the American Revolution Bicentennial will touch more lives, and communicate the very reason for the Bicentennial observance than coin of the realm and the official medallion."
