Margaret Thatcher served as prime minister of the United Kingdom for three terms from 1979 to 1990.

Dubbed 'The Iron Lady', Thatcher survived an assassination attempt in 1982 when the IRA planted a bomb at the Conservative party conference in Brighton.

Prior to her political work, Thatcher studied at the Somerville College in Oxford and graduated with a Second Class Honours in her Chemistry Bachelor of Science degree.

This black and white photograph shows a young Thatcher working in a chemistry lab, mixing chemicals together in a beaker.

Thatcher has signed the 10" x 8" photograph in the bottom left corner in black ink.

A wonderful political autograph. In excellent condition.
