Very rare typed letter signed ''(Mrs.) Margaret Mitchell Marsh'' regarding her landmark novel ''Gone With the Wind''. 11 September 1945 letter to Mitchell's Brazilian editors reads, ''Gentlemen: I have received your royalty statement on 'Gone With the Wind,' covering the period ending June 30, 1945. I have also received your check for $146.16. I thank you so much for both.'' Letter on personal stationery bearing her Atlanta, Georgia address. Margaret Mitchell rarely signed with her married name ''Marsh'' (indeed, she published ''Gone With the Wind'' as Margaret Mitchell even though she was married to Marsh at the time), making this letter quite exceptional. Letter on translucent rice paper measures 8.5'' x 11''. Very slight chipping to edges; two small green spots to the left region, not affecting text. Very good condition.
