Before there was AC/DC, there was Marcus Hook Roll Band and this still-sealed LP captures a pivotal piece of rock history. Every track on this rare release was written and produced by the legendary duo Harry Vanda and George Young, who would go on to shape the sound of AC/DC and help launch their global legacy.
Packed with infectious riffs and gritty ‘70s glam-rock swagger, this album is a hidden gem for fans of the Young family’s musical empire. Issued by Capitol Records, the cover is clean and colorful with factory shrink still intact (small punch hole present).
Whether you're a collector, completist, or just love tracing the roots of hard rock royalty

The Marcus Hook Roll Band was formed in 1972 by Harry Vanda and George Young, formerly of The Easybeats. The band was a studio project that also featured a young Malcolm and Angus Young, who would later form AC/DC.
Their only full-length album, "Tales of Old Grand-Daddy," was recorded in 1973 and originally released in 1973 in Australia and a few other markets. This version, with the stylized Capitol Records cover, is likely a later reissue, but the material itself dates back to that early '70s session work that helped lay the groundwork for the AC/DC sound.
