French painter (1887-1968) known for ‘Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2.’ When this painting was exhibited at the Armory Show in New York City in 1913, it created an uproar and was the focal point for derogatory criticism of the show. TLS, one page, 5.75 x 8, November 4, 1966. Letter to a gentleman in Brazil attempting to acquire an etching. In full: “Thank you for your letter of October 5th in which you expressed interest in obtaining an etching of mine. I have none in my possession, but suggest that you get in touch with the Galeria Schwarz in Milan who has several things of this type for sale.” In fine condition.
