Marc Chagall autograph letter signed, dated 1937 from Paris. Written in Yiddish, letter is addressed to friend and magazine editor Gabriel Talpir. Translation reads in part: ''...I thank you for your intention to publish a book of my art. This will be exactly for 50 years of my work, in 1937 or 1938. Your book should include reproductions from 1908 (Death on the Street)...'' Signed ''Marc Chagall''. Two-page letter, front and verso, measures 8.25'' x 10.5, with an archivally repaired tear at top left, folds and two holes punched. Very good.
