OTHER HANDMADE, Mica. Very rare Yellow Mica. This is amongst the largest I have ever seen. Darker shade of yellow, but it is not amber. There is a core of finely ground mica and a subsurface layer of finely ground mica. I originally thought the marble had been buffed. But it is not shiny and a loupe reveals a surface that has lots of scratches and a number of tiny chips (and two fairly small chips). I think the marble rolled around in a box or drawer for a long time. A very light buff is going to reveal a real beauty. Germany, circa 1870-1920. 1-13/16". Good(+) (7.9). Provenance: ex-collection Joe Rocco. Estimate: $250-$500
