OTHER HANDMADE, Mica. Large Yellow Mica. Stunning color. Superb subsurface layer of mica. This marble is an unusual example. There is an area of glass at the very top that is filled with seed air bubbles. At first glance, it looks like the area is a fill area of epoxy. However, it is glass, and if you look closely at the marble, you can see where the mica layer has been folded over at the top. This is a single-gather single-pontil example, not a cane-cut example. Extremely rare! Faceted pontil. Surface is all original. Exceptional example for any collection. Germany, circa 1870-1920. 1-3/16". Mint (9.7).
