Based on the Jack Arnold/Universal International Pictures movie classic, this canvas captures the sublime terror of the chilling vision created by Olympic swimmer/stuntman Ricou Browning knifing through the water, outfitted in Milicent Patrick's costume (said to have been based on old seventeenth-century woodcuts of two bizarre creatures called the Sea Monk and the Sea Bishop). This painting is so faithful to the film, you can practically hear the Creature's signature theme music in your mind -- the brassy, bombastic, three-note progression of <I>da da daaaaa</B></I>!
