Manor, TX - $50 1902 Date Back Fr. 667 Farmers NB Ch. # 7146This bank, from a community just twelve miles from Austin in northeastern Travis County, was the only bank in town and issued a small amount of third charter $50s and $100s before closing in 1926. Unreported in the most recent census in Kelly's reference National Bank Notes, only one other note from here has ever surfaced, a nearly identical piece that was sold as a part of the Irish collection and is currently ensconced in a private collection. By wonderful happenstance this Extremely Fine+ example is only lightly circulated, and it bears terrific vanity pen signatures of cashier Paul W. Bowman and bank president W.G. Luedecke. Likely stashed away shortly after the time of issue, this newly discovered piece offers a tremendous opportunity for the astute Texas collector who realizes the importance of this offering. This marvelous note has everything going for it--rarity, grade, location, and eye appeal, a winning combination that could lead to runaway bidding. Worth whatever it takes to buy and difficult to estimate in today's market, but likely to hammer in the range of. . . Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
