Oil on paper, framed. Featuring a farm landscape scene. Signed and manner of Daniel Garber (American, 1880-1958) on the lower right corner. 17.5 x 24 cm (6.9 x 9.4 inches). Frame size: 25.5 x 32 cm (10.0 x 12.6 inches). Daniel Garber was an American Impressionist landscape painter and member of the art colony at New Hope, Pennsylvania. He is best known today for his large impressionist scenes of the New Hope area, in which he often depicted the Delaware River. He also painted figurative interior works and excelled at etching. In addition to his painting career, Garber taught art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts for over forty years. PROVENANCE: Southern Ontario estate.
