Manhattan .31 caliber percussion revolver, 5” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips, standard engraved frame with rolled cylinder scene. Serial #3212 on wedge, no other serial numbers. Bottom of frame marked “Patented Dec 27, 1859”. The revolver shows a 12-notch cylinder and is rolled with a stagecoach hold-up scene. The barrel retains 50-70% evenly thinning and toning blue finish. Some minor erosion, mottling, and areas of pinprick pitting just starting. The front sight is an old hand-made brass replacement of the period. The cylinder shows 90% plus original cylinder scene and has been lightly cleaned to grey. The frame, hammer, and lever show strong traces of case hardening going to silvery grey patina. The trigger shows darkened silver plate. The varnish wood grips are very good show 50-70% varnish, slight mars, nicks, and wear at the edges, but are at least very good. The barrel address is sharp, the action tight, the interior good and bore bright. A well cared for early Civil War era Manhattan. Refer Flayderman 5C-008. Est: $700 - $1,400
