The tomahwk is hand made by the Mandan Native Americans to resemble the Tomohawk in Karl Bodmer's Mandon Water Color in 1834. This piece is made in the 1920-50's. This is a Mato Tepe (4 Bears) Tomahawk with a iron head, trade paints, Mountain Ash handle, Bead work strips using old pony glass trade beads and is Elk sinew sewn and hide glued grip wrap. The tomahawk has a great look and measures 22" long with a 8.25" long head.
