The Man Who Knew Too Much (Paramount, 1956). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). Perhaps fearing that Gus Van Sant would do it if he did not, Alfred Hitchcock remade his breakthrough British film 20 years later with Hollywood stars and Hollywood production value. When Jimmy Stewart learns of an assassination from a dying man, Stewart and wife Doris Day must stop the assassin without getting their kidnapped son killed. The cards capture the propulsive energy of the film with vivid colors and action shots. Pinholes appear along the border of the cards, but aside from a crease on one card, the images remain undisturbed. Two cards show some fading, and one of these has ink stains in the picture portion as well. However, the other six cards display very well. Fine.
