British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured circa 1942. Features a black painted finish, 25.2" barrel with integral bayonet lugs, shrouded patridge front sight, receiver mounted flip-up aperture rear sight graduated to 1,300 yards, two barrel bands, smooth trigger, detachable 10 round magazine, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, integral charge loading guide cuts in the receiver, smooth full-length wood handguard, forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass trapdoor buttplate. The left side of the butt socket is marked "ENGLAND/J14153/M 1942/F.T.R." The receiver is stamped with a Birmingham proof house mark & "4 Mk 1." The stock is marked "T/NB/27260" on the forend and "DP," "359" & "1262" on the butt. Rifle retains approximately 95% of it's black paint finish showing little wear and some built up layers of finish. Action is sound, the bore is dull with good rifling and the wood stocks are very good with some small blemishes. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***C&R Firearm*** From The John F Sukey Collection
