Featured in this lot is this Mallard duck wooden and glass eye decoy circa 1940's. The duck decoy is wonderfully and professionally crafted wooden and glass eye construction that shows a brown body with feather decoration and shows a green head. The bottom of the decoy is marked with unrecognizable markings. The mallard or wild duck is a dabbling duck that breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Eurasia, and North Africa. It has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Falkland Islands, and South Africa. The condition of this duck decoy shows some wear to to the outside of the decoy and shows a fissure to the neck of the duck but otherwise shows no serious damage. The measurements of this duck decoy is 5 1/2" x 16"5 1/4".
