Excessively rare first issue of the newspaper Mr. Muhammad Speaks (Volume 1, Number 1, May 1960), founded by Malcolm X for The Nation of Islam, 16 pages, 11.5 x 15.25, with the cover featuring an image of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad and prominent green text: "We Must Have Some Land!" Topics covered inside include Elijah Muhammad's visit to Chicago, Malcolm X's performance in radio debates, the legacy of Marcus Garvey, police brutality, and international Islamic news. In good to very good condition, with the masthead torn off of the first page, light uniform toning, and some small edge chips and tears. This first issue of Mr. Muhammad Speaks is incredibly rare—not even the Nation of Islam has an original issue in their archives.
