Major ornate guild goblet of the Hamburg wine-trader's guild, whose wealth and influence is reflected in the elaborate design. The goblet's form is influenced by older examples. In 1785, Caspar Jacob Brahmfeld (1749-1816) assumes the office previously held by his father, Hinrich. A variety of works by Caspar Jacob Brahmfeld have survived and are documented.
