PORTER around, FURST.F. below truncation. Reverse winged Victory holding banners inscribed ERIE, CHIPPEWA, and NIAGARA (much double-punching visible here), dictating to muse of History, RESOLUTION OF CONGRESS NOVEMBER 3, 1814 around, in exergue BATTLES OF CHIPPEWA. JULY 5.1814 / NIAGARA. JULY 25.1814. / ERIE. SEPT. 17.1814., FURST F. at lower edge. This lustrous and pleasing milk-chocolate-brown piece is produced from the original reverse die, identified by SEP. 17 recut over SEO. 16. Moderate scattered carbon precludes a finer grade, most noticeable on the obverse highpoint of Porter's temple. Accompanied by an NGC Photo Certificate.
