<td width="100%">
Unusual 19th century mahogany tea caddy from England is inlaid on the front with a three dimensional diamond design of satinwood. Unique lid and mitered sides. Rich patina to the wood. Original brass loop handles either side. The two interior compartments are topped with lids of corresponding design to the main lid. Very tiny sliver of wood missing from bottom edge of one lid. The interior of the main lid has been recovered with marbleized deep green and red paper in more recent times. Brass hinges. The interior of the two caddies were either relined with wood interior walls and bottom of 3/8 inch thick wood many years ago or possibly had only a tin lining and a new one was constructed. The workmanship was exeptional. The box in excellent condition with exception to the one flaw mentioned. Measures 7H X 10.5L X 7D. Additional photos available.
