This exquisite rifle shotgun combination features three sets of barrels. One set of barrels is 27 3/4" in length, with a 16 gauge barrel on the left side, with 2 1/2" chamber and an extractor. The right barrel is rifled 20 bore with 2 1/2" chamber. It has a German silver dove tailed blade front and fixed "V" notch leaf rear sight. The second set is 30" in length, 16 gauge with 2 1/2" chambers, single brass bead sight and extractor. The third set is 26 5/8" in length with 20 gauge rifled (6 groove) barrels, dove tailed German silver blade front sight and "V" notch rear leaf sight and extractor. All three sets of barrels have a solid rib and sling swivel mounted on the bottom. All are Damascus with deep relief chiseled vine leaf designs around the front sight, on the breech ends extending 5 1/2" and on the breech end of the rib extending to just ahead of the rear sight, with scattered gold inlaid leafs and berries. Each rib is gold inlaid with the makers mark "H. Leue & Timpe. Hofburhsenm, Berlin.". The frame, hammers, trigger guard and back locks are also deep relief chiseled with vine leaf patterns (also branches on the hammers) with scattered gold inlaid leafs and berries. In addition there is a running deer on the left side of the frame, hunting dog on the right side, a hare on the right lock and two pheasants on the left lock. Each lock has two banners, above and below the hammer gold inlaid "H. LEUE & TIMPE" in the upper and "HOFBURHSENM, BERLIN" in the lower. The under lever is mounted directly ahead of the trigger guard and is chiseled relief cross hatch pattern. The hammers have high checkered spurs. The rear trigger guard tang is horn with a finely detailed carved squirrel at the rear. Adjustable double set triggers and mounted with a hand carved and checkered splinter forearm with vine leaf and berry designs and carved beetles for the bolt terminals. The straight grip stock has a hand checkered wrist, the fruiting vine design on the high edge of the cheekpiece and checkered buttplate with the fruit leafs on the heal with some gold inlay. The barrels are Birmingham proofed. Complete in a walnut veneer two tier case with a glass lid and German silver corner protectors. The tops of the ones on the lid are engraved with the a fruit vine design. The upper lift out tray contains a bullet mold, shot and powder ladles, turnover tool, rammer, case cutter, cartridge cutter, two turn screws, oiler, and cleaning rod. The bottom compartment has compartments for ammunition.

Condition: Excellent overall. All sets of barrels retain at least 98% original brown finish with a very attractive Damascus pattern. The remaining surfaces have a smooth gray patina. All of the gold inlay remains. With the exception of a small chip on the rear of the forearm at the frame juncture, the wood is excellent with a few minor dings and handling marks. The case and all accessories are very fine with some wear to the lining. An exquisite piece of art.
