This was produced by the Mauser Factory. These early rifles were used extensively by all branches of the German military to include the, Army, Navy and SS units to train their troops. They were a low cost alternative to using standard ammunition to train troops with and they duplicated the size, weight, and feel of a standard 98K rifle. The top of the receiver ring is marked with the "Mauser Banner" logo and the rear bridge is marked "KK-WEHRSPORTGEWHR" / MAUSER-WERKE,A.-G.-OBERNDORF a/N.". The left rear side of the barrel is marked "Kal 22 LANG FUR BUCHSEN" next to the serial number and an eagle proof at the breech. The left side front of the receiver is marked with the matching serial number and an eagle proof. Fixed front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. It has the early style milled front barrel bands, a wartime black leather sling. The stock and handguard are the light blond European walnut with a flat buttplate and bolt takedown washer through the butt. Complete with a Alcoso bayonet with smooth wooden handle and metal scabbard.
