Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus of the original nickel and 90% gold plated finish. Wear is limited to some spots of flaking in two cylinder flutes, the back of the trigger and the side of the hammer. There is some minor finish wear on the edges of the cylinder. The engraving is extremely crisp. The checkered, hard rubber grips are in excellent condition. The bore is bright and the action functions perfectly. This is an outstanding example of a rare, dual finish Gustave Young Factory exhibition quality engraved Colt Model 1877 double action revolver in excellent original condition. It would be difficult to find a better example of a Colt Lightning double action revolver.
