This is a beautiful example of a presentation sugar bell made by Lowell Pottery of Tonica, Illinois. This sugar bell was presented to Mrs. Irma Greiner, a neighbor to Lowell Pottery by the employees there. It stands approximately 12 1/2 inches tall, is approximately 10 1/2 inches wide and has a 4 3/4 inch opening. There is a decorative blue band around the top and bottom. Decorated in cobalt blue on the upper portion of the bell is "MRS. IRMA. GREINER." and "SUGAR". The lower portion is nicely decorated, again in cobalt blue, with a coastal scene of fields, brick and split rail fences, a well, ocean and trees and mountains in the background. Six thick felt disks have been attached to the bottom for protection.
