Magnificent 18th to 19th century Miqulet flintlock musket probably from Algeria or Morocco showing ornate and fine silver inlays and extensively mounted with red coral. The musket measures 58” overall with a 44” Damascus barrel ofhighest-quality showing watered steel decoration and gold inlays that is smoothbored in approximately .70 caliber. The lock is signed or dated directly beneath the hammer on the underside. The quality of the silver work isexceptional and very ornate also the silver surrounds approximately 70 gem quality shaped coral stones with a reddish pink color. The original ramrod is also sheathed in silver and worked to match the mountings of the musket. Theoverall condition is very good plus to near fine overall and this is the best of this type musket we have seen offered on the collectors market for at least a decade. Est.: $6,000-$12,000
