Magic Mountain Music Festival Concert Poster (KF
Magic Mountain Music Festival Concert Poster (KFRC, 1967). The Summer Of Love kicked off with this June 3-4, 1967 benefit concert, hosted by San Francisco's Top 40 AM radio station KFRC. It's been referred to as the first real Rock festival (some two weeks before Monterey), as well as the first event to employ members of the Hell's Angels as security (more than two years before Altamont). The line up ran the gamut from Pop groups (Every Mother's Son, Grass Roots), Soul (Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Wilson Picket), and Folk (Tim Hardin), to harder-edged Rock bands like Moby Grape, the Seeds, Loading Zone, and Jefferson Airplane. The Doors were just beginning to hit big with "Light My Fire," and this is considered to be their first large-scale performance. The Byrds played with trumpeter Hugh Masakela, who added special pizzazz to their hit song "So You Wanna Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star," The poster is a first printing, and measures approximately 19" x 28". Condition is VG+, with staple holes in all four corners.

Shipping: Flat Material, Large (view shipping information)
