Austrian actress (1892–1951) who achieved success in the United States in films like Heidi, until she was blacklisted during the McCarthy period. Vintage pearl-finish 8 x 10 double weight photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Sincerely, Mady Christians.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of October 22, 1935, the date the signature was acquired. In fine condition, with a bit of mild rippling to right edge, as well as a couple of dings.
