Madras Presidency, Fort St. George Mint (Madras), Gold Pagoda,1stIssue,Obv: a standing deity (Lord Vishnu) with floral twigs raising up to the face at both sides, surrounded by various symbols and dotted border, Rev: smooth granulated,3.41g, 11.64mm,choice very fine, Exceedingly Rare.
Note: This issue is prior to the issue of the star pagoda and three Swamy pagodas. It is plausible that it was struck at an early stage as the first issue. Barbara illustrates this as an early Porto Novo pagoda.
